Parking day – planned 28.09.2021

More space for people!

Under this motto, our Parking Day will take place probably on Sept. 28 from 2 p.m.. Unfortunately, the first date in August had to be canceled due to weather, we are currently planning on a replacement!
But what is it actually? Parking Day is a day for alternative use of parking spaces, with which we want to draw attention to new ways of using space in the city. There will be food sharing, card games, a clothing & plant swap, a reading corner, and a great program with activities:

14.30 guided tour of the raised bed garden
15.30 discussion on space use & city improvement
17.00 yoga

The event will be held on Arcisstraße (level with TUM) in 8 blocked parking spaces. For contact tracking, registration is necessary:
(If the weather does not cooperate the event will be rescheduled to 4.09. Info on short notice here on the website and on Instagram.) To be able to exclude a Covid-19 infection at our event, we have created a hygiene concept. So that the number of allowed participants is not exceeded, there is a mandatory registration: https://registration.fs.tum.de/parkingday/
To participate in our event you need, according to the current status, no test proof. However, this could change again shortly before the event, as our hygiene concept is linked to the current legal situation. The latest information about this can be found here on the website. If you have Covid-19 symptoms, you will not be able to participate in the event. Wearing a mouth-nose protection (“OP mask”) is mandatory.

If you have any further questions or suggestions, please feel free to write us an email at: umwelt@fs.tum.de

We look forward to seeing you!

Clothing Swap Party – 30.08.2021

Do you sometimes find yourself standing in front of a full closet, having nothing to wear? Do you want to breathe new life into your wardrobe, but don’t feel like fast fashion? Then we have the perfect event for you!
On August 30th, 2021 our clothing swap will finally take place again! This time with a book exchange as well!

The event takes place outdoors on the forecourt of the northern building of the TUM (Theresienstraße 90)! Participation is free, of course. For contact tracing, however, you need to register via the following link: https://registration.fs.tum.de/kleidertauschparty/ (you can switch to English in the upper right corner)

(If the weather on August 30th does not cooperate, the clothing swap will be postponed by one week to September 6th, 2021 and will take place in the TUM matriculation hall. So we are definitely independent of the weather on the alternative date. Information on this will be available here on our website and on Instagram at short notice.)

In order to avoid any Covid-19 infection at our event, we have created a hygiene concept. There are 4 time slots for which you can register, so that the number of allowed participants is not exceeded. According to the current status, you do not need a test certificate to participate in our event. However, that could change again shortly before the event, as our hygiene concept is linked to the current legal situation. The latest information is available here on our website. However, anyone who has Covid-19 symptoms cannot take part in the event. It is mandatory to wear a face mask (“surgical mask”).

Now to our swap rules:
There is no quantity limit, which means that everyone can bring and take home as much as they want. That means you can of course also come if you don’t have any clothes to hand in.
If you only want to hand in clothes, but don’t need any new ones, you can come by without registering (during the event or beforehand in the office of the student representation, but please write us a short email so that someone will be there).
Before you come, you should briefly check the condition of your clothes: only clean, well-preserved, stain-free clothes, books & shoes will be accepted, no accessories or decorations!
Clothing that has not been exchanged will be donated to “FairWertung”, or you can take it home with you!

There will be a changing room and some mirrors. We will also provide measuring tapes in case you want to measure your clothes beforehand. Furthermore we have set up a cell-phone-collection-station, where you can have your old cell phones sustainably recycled and at the same time donate to the state association for bird protection. There will also be free food from Foodsharing again, but unfortunately, due to hygiene regulations, this may not be consumed on site, but only taken away. It’s best to bring a small lunch box or something similar to avoid waste. 🙂
Men are of course explicitly invited as well!
We will also put up some information and facts about the textile industry and sustainable alternatives on site.
If you have any further questions or suggestions, please send us an email to: Umwelt@fs.tum.de
Come by, breathe new life into your wardrobe and do something good for the environment at the same time 🙂
We look forward to you!

Kick-off event Sustainability Student Initiatives Forum

You want to get engaged with a student initiative, but don’t know which one suits you best?

You are already an initiative at TUM and are looking for a way to network with other initiatives and present your work to students?

Then the Sustainability Student Initiatives Forum is the right place for you, both students and initiatives. We are the TUM Sustainability Office, the Taskforce Sustainability and the Environmental Department of the Student Representation. We provide the framework and the platforms – together we shape the content!

The first kick-off event will take place on June 16..2021  7pm.

If you would like to know more about the TUM Sustainability Office, take a look at the official website.
